Matthieu Blazy’s Bottega Veneta continues to make us dream

It’s hard to pinpoint what we absolutely love about Matthieu Blazy’s interpretation of the Bottega identity, and that perhaps, is because it’s not a particular thing. It rather is, everything. The way it says “I’m here” with elegance, strength and this je-ne-sais-quoi that imposes a presence in the room. Blazy, who excels at capturing the zeitgeist, knows how to birth pieces that are loud in the most refined way. Timeless or extravagant, they leave an indelible mark, confirming Bottega as one of the most desirable brands of our time. For SS24, you guessed it, we renewed our vows, wowed by yet another successful exercise.

There’s so much beauty to admire: an impressive leather folding here, impeccable woven details there, brilliant proportions everywhere. We slowly dive into what seems to be a real life interpretation of our wildest dreams.

Influences after influences, the SS24 collection showcases an incredible use of craft, as it is common practice at Bottega. The motion is made interesting by unexpected fabric waves, folding, fluffy pom-poms, fringes and asymmetric cuts. Like kids in a candy store, we’re so tempted to get closer and touch.

In the accessory department, The XXL shoulder bags in the signature intrecciato complete the play on proportion.

Blazy has once again delivered absolute perfection, that each of the 72 looks helped achieved, together creating a line up of dreams, reminding us what it is we love about fashion.
