Vaqar | A sister’s design story

Sisters Shiva and Shirin Vaghar, the two sisters behind the label Vaqar were born andraised in Tehran.

While Shiva is a business graduate, Shirin studied visual arts and both are, considering the lack of suitable Fashion schools in Iran, self-taught in Fashion Design.

The sisters launched their womenswear brand in 2013, in their home city, proposing clothes for modern and strong women. Their first introduction onto the international Fashion Scene was made through the highly recognized LVMH prize for which they have been nominated in 2015.

Vaqar is part of the re-birth of the Iranian artistic scene, putting into light sleek designs with daring cuts, a rigid color palette giving the whole aesthetic a contemporary and almost futuristic touch.
