Founded in 2010 by architects Elias Anastas and Yousef Anastas, Local Industry is putting a light on Palestinian artisan crafts, offering their customers an expert savoir-faire paired with edginess and functionability in a minimalistic approach.
Dusting off Palestinian crafts in a modern way is the mission of Local Industries. To Anastas, working with specific local artisans is key.
Conception and production, usually two separate processes, are now being considered together : “Here, conception stems from the means of production and in return the means of production adapt accordingly. The result is a new type of object, which is adapted to local means of productions but also to modern work or living spaces which require a high standard in functionality, aesthetics and quality.”

Local Industries is hoping to make dying crafts desirable again, keeping in mind the final product: a piece of furniture that 3 words can describe: Quality, Simplicity (but) Boldness.
