Karen Wazen tells us about Season 9 of her namesake Eyewear label

doesn’t need an intro. Karen Wazen is *the* Arab influencer that would influence even the most reluctant of us. Known much beyond the borders of the MENA, Wazen has seduced the public with her looks, cute videos of herself and her family but most importantly her kind heart, generosity and genuineness.
Since 2018, the Social Media mogul added designer to her CV with the launch of Karen Wazen Eyewear, her namesake sunnies collection: “It started with a girl who used eyewear to hide and a way to boost her self-confidence. It took her sometime to realize that in fact she and her alter ego are one. ” We spoke to Wazen to know more about Season 9, the label’s latest drop.

Hello Karen! First off, congrats on launching Season 9 of your eyewear collection ūüôā How
does it feel to have created 9 collections already and are you still as excited now as you were
for season 1?

Karen Wazen (KW): Thank you so much! Every season is always an exciting time to explore a new chapter and new
styles for the brand. We’re always very eager to push the boundaries in the way we design as we aim to exhibit a unique and diverse approach for each collection. Season 9 holds a special place in my heart, as it delves into the roots of my personal journey that led to the launch of my own eyewear line.

How is the job of a designer different from the one of influencer and do you think they
compliment each other?

KW: Inspiring the vision for the collection relates in many ways to how I engage with my community and
to how I work with brands. Being a creator has enabled me to connect with my community on different levels and to learn about their preferences and styles which has played a significant role in bringing my brand to life. The brand is an extension of myself, and it complements my presence on social media as it reflects on my style, fashion philosophy, and personal taste.

What would your ultimate dream be for Karen Wazen Eyewear?

KW: Since our launch in 2018, the brand has become a globally recognized brand beloved by big international names. In a very short period were able to secure well renowned stockists and to build relations with key retailers. Along with our own retail point in ABC Dbayeh, we aim for the brand to keep growing and expanding in the region and hopefully internationally.

So what about the different pairs? If you’re looking for a thick frame, the¬†“SIR” that comes in 5 colors – pink, blue, black, silver, and mauve- might be just what you need. ¬†The “SWIM¬†” is also thick but rather circular for a perfect face wrap-around effect featuring a gradient lens effect and available in three different colours: black, brown, and caramel.
You can also opt for The¬†“LASER” with one of our favourite look, a bold cat-eye frame, available in black and olive. And if you truly are looking to make an entrance and turn heads, the “SKI” featuring an oversized tinted mask shield might be just for you.
No matter which style, they all feature the distinctive, diamond shaped Karen Wazen Eyewear logo on the sides.
