The dream to see an official Fashion Week in our part of the world is about to become reality. Dubai will now shine bright on the official Fashion Week Calendar, next to the industry’s big 4s, Paris, Milan, London and New York, confirming the positioning of the UAE’s busiest city as a global fashion capital.

Founder and CEO of the Arab Fashion Council, Jacob Abrian and Khadija Al Bastaki, the helm of Dubai Design District announce Dubai Fashion Week at a private dinner on Tuesday, February 7th 2023.

The launch of Dubai Fashion Week will take place in just about a month, with inaugural shows happening from March 10 to 15th, right after another of the city’s main cultural event, Art Dubai. Previously Arab Fashion Week, which lived 21 editions, this new adventure will be showcasing Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer collections by both emerging and established designers not just from the region but from a global scene.

With this change also comes the hope to facilitate business opportunities between designers, brands and buyers from different segment of the industry. Not your typical Fashion Week, we are expected to see on the runway not only Ready-To-Wear Men and but also Couture collections.

Dubai Design District’s developer, TECOM Group, reinforces its commitment to putting Dubai on the global map as a main actor as well as cementing Dubai’s status “as a global hub for business growth and investment“.

The countdown is on!
