Where to dine in Dubai this week-end

By  |

The stressful question of knowing which place to book this week-end is about to get that much easier. Whether you fancy a little fine dining or are looking for chill vibes and sea views, JDEED has you covered. Follow the guide for the best Dubai restaurants to book right now.

IBN ALBAHR CREEK

Could it be our new favourite spot for our week-end lunches by the water? Yes, yes it could. Niched in the Creek Golf & Yacht Club, this new location is offering fans of this Club Vista Mare staple a new reason to cross town.
Awarded with a Bib Gourmanch Michelin in 2023, Ibn Albahr – owned by fishermen, is the perfect combinaision of superb venue, 10/10 food and perfect vibes. We could have sat on their terrace for ever, surrounded by some of the city’s most beautiful views and serenaded by the DJ’s playlist.
And for the main act, the food, well, it’s pretty awesome too: obviously fresh seafood being the star of the show, we indulged in grilled calamari, hummus albahr (think your traditional hummus but topped with shrimps & co), and a beautifully prepared grilled hammour with plenty of Kalamata olives.
As we sipped on a – very – spicy Margarita, we are already picturing the amazing family and friends lunches we’d love to have here.

SUCRE

After hearing so much about it, we made our way to Sucre to discover what this London staple was really all about. From the magnificent entrance to the très très chic dining room, a few steps inside and we were already convinced. The South American inspired menu looks so good that we already know deciding what to get would take us up to 3 business days. Thankfully, a plate presenting a perfect dollop of paprika butter and toasted sourdough bread comes to the rescue while we elaborate our tasting plan.
Now, we do say “ten out of ten” a lot and trust us, we’re not paid to do so. But oh my, was Sucre a hit. From the garlic prawns to the goat cheese tortellinis (do not miss these), the insane burrata with peaches and pistachio and a scrumptious tiramisu, everything we tried is something we’d recommend to our best friends.

BABEL

The grand entrance and beautiful terrace overlooking the Dubai Mall’s fountains are certainly bonus points for Babel, but the Fashion Avenue restaurant’s food is more than enough to have us coming back. While interesting twists on the Arabic cuisine staples (think truffle falafel or caviar hummus) mingle with more traditional items, seafood is the real star of the show here, to be had butterfly style or simply grilled. Please do leave room for dessert and go for the “ashta 3a ashta” literally ashta on ashta, a combination of the famous Middle Eastern clotted cream in 2 ways.

THE NICE GUY

It’s always a vibe at The Nice Guy – with Dubai’s current weather,  we sat on the patio from where we could observe beautiful views of DIFC, and settled into our booth before starting off right with a glass of dry white wine. The restaurant celebrates Italian cuisine and offers some of the best in the city. Amongst our absolute favourite items, the eggplant parmigiana that truly cannot be missed, the OG Margarita pizza Neapolitan style and the Rigatoni alla Vodka with seafood. To perfect this beautiful night, we were serenaded by live music and a talented singer who got us singing along. An impeccable experience from A to Z, The Nice Guy takes things up a notch and has now opened Hush Hush, a club at the back of the restaurant which, we’re willing to bet, will host some of the coolest parties in the city. Don’t miss the photobooth.
