Mubarak Al-Malik is one of the artist behind some of Doha’s well known graffitis. Also into sculpture and fine arts, Mubarak is the nephew of artist Salman Al-Malikan who enabled him to explore various dimensions of different aesthetics.
Undoubtedly inspired by his Arabic culture and traditional materials, Al-Malik manages to keep an authentic feel to his work while mixing it up with modern elements.
Mubarak is a great admirer of the Batoola – a face-covering element widely spread among women within the Persian Gulf Area- which is often to be found in his artworks, reminding us once again how deeply he is connected to his roots.
