Factory People just opened Soul Kitchen in Dubai, here’s what to expect

By  |

The dining scene in Dubai is one of the busiest in the world, with restaurants opening basically every week. We feel you, it can easily get overwhelming. This new addition however, nestled in the heart of Business Bay, isn’t like any other option out there. Soul Kitchen, which story started in Beirut, is taking over the UAE’s most exciting city with an interesting proposal mixing Levantine and Latin American cuisines and mouth-watering cocktails.

Soul Kitchen is an ode to the Arab diaspora of the 19th century that mainly found itself settling down in Latin America, from Buenos Aires to Mexico City.
With cultures intertwining, food recipes collided and Levantine cuisine made itself known, being reimagined with local ingredients and influences: “these two cultures possess an untold story that intertwines history, pride and a deep passion for food,” explain SK’s executive Chef, Margarita Vaamonde

And so concretely, what is on the menu? Well, dishes that we want to sample asap: we’re talking Sheri Fish Crudo, delicately infused with tabbouleh water and jicama crudité, Grilled Calamari marinated with achiote, Tamarind Glazed Lamb Chops and, buckle up for this next one, the Chicken Shawarma Empanadas.

Vegan friends, fear not, you’ll be able to enjoy inventive dishes such as a Lychee Ceviche and Mushroom Kebab.

As per the drinks, we’re in good hands with bar maestro Jaco Raath that has carefully selected wines and passionately crafted cocktails. Here again, the influences from both regions meet, resulting in unheard of compositions: Relish in the Arak-Lychee Bellini, Rum-Mango Ice Tea infused with cardamom and clarified mate, Peachy Margarita with flavours of sumac or a Turkish Manhattan with notes of coffee.

“Soul Kitchen” is a project launched by Factory People, whose influence in the MENA region continues growing year after year.
Renowned for their incredible venues that leave an impact such as iconic mega clubs ‘The Grand Factory’ and ‘AHM’ in Beirut, Factory People is today a portfolio of 20 brands and 17 venues, including restaurants, bars and beach clubs.
