Artsy Dubai | Alserkal Avenue

By  |

You thought Dubai was all malls, beaches and bling-bling nightclubs ? Think again.

A decade ago, the first edition of Art Dubai lead the way for a new generation of artistic minds and art enthusiasts. Galleries, art studios, schools and even a whole district dedicated to the promotion of art and design (Dubai Design Destrict), the city is on the way to becoming a real artistic stopover.alserkal-1

Whereas some upscale galleries settled down in D.I.F.C (Dubai International Financial Center), contemporary art has found its place in Alserkal Avenue in the industrial and quite remote Al Quoz district.

Imagine a big industrial allotment composed of several warehouses all sheltering art galleries. If you’ve ever been to Brooklyn, especially in Williamsburg, well that’s about the feel you’ll get at Alserkal.

While over 60 creative spaces are open, The Third Line stands out with its selection of great upcoming artists from the region.

Wild and the Moon, the Paris healthy café has a sister in Alserkal if you need a fuel in between two amazing galleries.
