Artist and Physician | Ahmed Mater

Ahmed Mater is a Saudi artist from Abha, a part of Saudi Arabia on the border with Yemen. Both an artist and a physician, Ahmed studied at King Khalid Univesity in his hometown. Politically engaged with a hint of scientific objectives granted by his background in medicine, it is through photography, film and performance that Ahmed expresses himself giving his interpretation of his investigations of the traditional Islamic aesthetics.

Saudi sociopolitical life within a global context is a the heart of his most recent practices.
