In a mesmerizing exploration of raw human nature, Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 menswear collection—conceived by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons—takes us back to the most fundamental aspects of humanity.

The collection, titled Unbroken Instincts, embraces spontaneity, emotion, and the primal instincts that guide us. It’s a celebration of the unlearned, automatic responses that shape our lives—those impromptu choices that reveal the true essence of our nature.

Once more, it's quintessential Prada (and very Raf this season), it's everything we love and adore, it's the gorgeous flirting with the undesirable, fabrics thoughts unmatchable finding their ways to one another, the 'but why's' findng valid reasons to exist.

Set in the imposing space of the Fondazione Prada’s Deposito, the show’s ambiance brought this theme to life with an industrial rawness. The venue was transformed by AMO into an experimental setting, where monumental metal structures collided with the tactile comfort of a luxurious carpet designed by Catherine Martin. The result was a juxtaposition of opposites—elements that enriched and reshaped our perception of each other, as if playing out a cinematic scene, where the intimate meets the grand. The environment embodied the heart of Unbroken Instincts: the union of contrasts that fuels emotion, expression, and human connection.

'In the generation of immediacy we live in, there's no time to second-guess your instincts. The shoes barely fit under the pants, the fabric is wrinkled, the top is too tight but in the end, who cares?'

This collection speaks to romance, not as a contrived choice, but as a movement—a celebration of emotions and instincts rising above reason. Through this lens, Prada’s vision invites us to embrace passionate spontaneity, uncovering a new level of sophistication through vulnerability and unguarded elegance. This translates into a puffer over a puffer, boots with a wrinkled pyjama-like outfit. In the generation of immediacy we live in, there's no time to second-guess your instincts. The shoes barely fit under the pants, the fabric is wrinkled, the top is too tight but in the end, who cares?

The garments, unpretentious yet rich in emotion, offer protection and intimacy. Shearling was used to evoke a sense of sensual security, worn both inside and outside, while knitwear was adorned with metal symbols, reminiscent of ancient amulets, suggesting an aura of protection that resonates on a deeply human level.

The collection’s beauty lies in the unexpected contrasts, dear to Prada - think rugged textures meet soft, tactile fabrics in an interplay of primal instincts. There's somewhat of a savage elegance going on, devoid of premeditated restraint.

From the textured metal accents to the layered textures of shearling, the collection’s intrinsic connection to human nature is undeniable. Clothing becomes a reflection of emotional and physical security, wrapping the body in instinctual gestures rather than calculated design. A filmic atmosphere underlines this primal journey, urging the audience to recall memories of universal emotional experiences.
