Prada FW25: A Raw Dream of Power and Fantasy

Stepping into the Deposito of the Fondazione Prada, the Prada FW25 show space was an architectural paradox—a place where rawness met grandeur, and structure collided with fantasy.

Metal scaffolding loomed overhead, reconfiguring the room into something between a deconstructed worksite and a dreamscape, while beneath our feet, a lush carpet designed by Catherine Martin softened the industrial edges, creating an atmosphere that felt both grounded and ethereal.

Then, the collection unfolded—a deliberate exploration of femininity, a questioning of its meaning, a reinterpretation of beauty itself. Dresses, typically the pinnacle of feminine archetypes, were transformed—gathered at the waist into sculptural volumes, exaggerated and rescaled, their original function and form deconstructed and redefined. Fragments of garments shifted across the body, appearing as if they had been torn apart and reassembled, their raw seams left deliberately exposed. Gestures of glamour—opulent jewels, bows, glossy handbags—contrasted against this rawness, making each look feel like a collision of elegance and rebellion.

The Prada woman this season exists in a world of her own making, a place where fantasy and reality merge seamlessly. She moves through life with a surreal, dreamlike quality, yet remains undeniably in control. Powerful tailoring, precise yet nonchalant, kept her grounded, while delicate silk dresses and exaggerated skirts with sculpted waists hinted at a woman unafraid to embrace both softness and strength.

If there’s one thing we can’t stop thinking about, it’s the waist-sculpting, ultra-voluminous skirts that felt like wearable art. The way they gathered, ruched, and expanded outward gave an almost surreal proportion to the body, adding a sense of romantic drama with a modern Prada edge. It was a reinvention of femininity—both regal and rebellious.
