Just in time for the season of sun-drenched escapes and garden strolls, Longchamp returns with a collaboration that’s anything but superficial.

Teaming up for the third time with Anaka, a Madagascar-based NGO, the Parisian house presents two handwoven accessories that carry more than style—they carry stories.

For Summer 2025, the mood is green—not just in palette, but in philosophy. The collection, titled “Live Green!”, puts the spotlight on raffia, a natural fiber deeply rooted in Madagascan craft traditions. Harvested from local palm varieties and passed from generation to generation, raffia here becomes a material of memory, labor, and legacy.

The pieces are straightforward in form, and yet rich with nuance. A bucket hat, unassuming but perfectly structured, is handwoven by Anaka’s artisans using straw-colored raffia, its shape crowned with a subtle leather Longchamp tag. It’s not just sun-shielding—it’s head-turning. Then there’s the reinvented Le Pliage net bag, whose raffia fringe nods to the freshness of market herbs and the ease of countryside mornings, with a construction as joyful as it is intentional.

But this story is bigger than accessories. Through this partnership, 40 women have been employed at the Anaka workshop, and 66 children have gone to school. And while Longchamp brings design, it is Anaka’s hands that bring life.

In a landscape where conscious design often comes off performative, this collaboration strikes a different note: quiet, rooted, and true. “Their handwork is the mark of a creativity which brings a deeper meaning to what we do,” says Sophie Delafontaine, Longchamp’s Creative Director.

With this partnership, Longchamp does what it does best: pairs its Parisian polish with something earthier, something slower. And in a season where fashion often feels like a sprint, this is a reminder of how powerful it is to walk—deliberately, collaboratively, and in step with those who’ve walked before you.
