Now reading: Loewe proposes a 'radical reduction' for SS25

He hasn't disappointed in 10 years at Loewe and he certainly didn't now. creative Director Jonathan Anderson has put an emphasis on the silhouette this season, questioning what defines it and what are its limits.

Taking its guests to a sleek white space within the gardens of the historic Château de Vincennes, the Spring/Summer 2025 collection broke free from traditional constraints, embracing the fluidity of forms and shapes. We feel a sense of escapism, with motifs of flight and dreams brought to life through sheer florals and flowing, looping dresses.

As it is tradition at Loewe, the garment is extraordinaire: it's floating, it's suspended, it's frozen and standing still. The craftsmanship of each piece is nothing but a work of art, delivered immaculately by the brand's artisans.

What happens when one takes all the noise away? Is it possible to fill an empty white room, commanding attention, without shouting for space?” the show notes read. “Nothing is as it is, though. The invitation to second guess is constant.” We indeed need to take a closer look at the precision of the fabrics, the particularity of the techniques: less is more but and JW Anderson wants to trick the eye.

Loewe’s SS25 lineup blended avant-garde fashion with classical art references, featuring prints of works by Édouard Manet, Johann Sebastian Bach, and van Gogh on flowing tops. The Maison's ability to fuse art and fashion, while maintaining a sense of ease and motion, was on full display. This blend of intellectual depth and effortless style has solidified Loewe as a cult favorite among the trendsetting elite.

We love the playful approach to volumes, the proportions that are either exaggerated or minimalistic, the sequins and the perfect combination of romantic meets powerful.

The art lovers we are also salute the appearance of artworks adorning the garments: Johann Sebastian Bach, van Gogh or Édouard Manet, Loewe presented a fluid vision of life in motion. And who else catches the Zeitgeist better than Loewe? The Spanish house has managed to remain in its own line, with is cult following, as it refuses to fit into society's standards and is creating a legacy beyond just fashionable peices.

Stars like Josh O’Connor brand's muse, Taylor Russell or Baby Reindeer's Martha Jessica Gunning were front row, confirming the brand's statut within the cool crowds of anti-conformists.

As per the show space, a solitary sculpture 'The Only Place You Came to Me Was in My Sleep (2017) by British artist Tracey Emin, both imposing and delicately poignant dominated the space. Emin, renowned for her deeply intimate and autobiographical work, often uses her personal experiences to explore themes such as love, loss, memory, and healing. Birds, a recurring motif in her work, symbolize both fragility and strength.

Overall, the SS25 collection showcased Loewe's mastery in creating fashion that is both visually compelling and deeply thoughtful, pushing boundaries while staying true to its artistic roots.
