Hello Amira, congrats on the song release! Tell us, how did the shift from acting to music happen for you?

I have always had a passion music and songwriting. It might come from my love for musicals and theater, and how it has always been an integral part of that art form, but it’s also the genius of lyricism in Hip Hop that captivated me since my younger years. The shift was bound to happen!

Could you describe your musical universe?

Creativity is an energy that can be channeled in many art forms. Before I can be labeled as an actress, a music artist or anything else, I’m a creative. Channeling all these art forms into one delivery is what I’m trying to create within this universe.

What is inspiring you to write your songs and what messages do you hope to convey through them?

I draw my inspiration from my own experiences, what I’ve been through whether in my personal life or my past careers. In the end, music allows us to connect with each other, and I hope that somewhere people will find themselves in the art I present. At the end of the day, art is about connection, some might hate it, others love it, and if I can hold space for some through my music, I’m already happy.

“Before I can be labeled as an actress, a music artist or anything else, I’m a creative.”

You’re talking about making it as a woman in a male-dominated industry; what are the main challenges you faced and how do you overcome them?

My track is about my own personal achievements, how lucky but also grateful I am to be able to create my own narrative through positive thinking and spiritual enlightenment. I don’t see myself as a female artist, but rather as an artist, so I can’t talk about this distinction. I however recognize how other female artists did inspire me to step outside their comfort zone and into the scene, like Donia Waell or Nadine el Roubi to name a few. Hopefully my art will inspire and push other women to do that too.

The scene is buzzing with cool performers coming out of the region; is there anyone in particular that you’d see yourself collaborate with on a track?

There are already collabs happening with artists I respect in the scene, and I’m enjoying how our styles are working well together. As for the names, you’ll have to wait and see...:)

What are your upcoming plans with the release? Could we expect to see you perform soon...?

Many songs and videos are coming out soon, each having their own universe and genre in them. Kart Ma7roo2 is really the beginning of a new era for me as I mentioned. I’m focusing on enjoying this process, experimenting more in this newworld for me. All I know is I’m not embarrassed by my own limiting beliefs and will never shy away from trying.

If you could listen to one album only for the rest of your life, which one would it be and why?
