Simi & Haze Khadra tell us about SIMIHAZE BEAUTY and being back to the region

Unsure you need a presentation, but in case, we’ll refresh your memory. Simi and Haze Khadra, gorgeous LA-based, Saudi-born Palestinian creative multi-hyphenates, are recognized internationally as DJs, influencers and fashion icons but also as the co-founders of  SIMIHAZE Beauty, which they birthed in 2021.

Bred between Riyadh, Dubai, London and Los Angeles that is now their home, they benefitted from a super international upbringing very inclusive of music, art, culture and fashion which helped them shape the way they look at the world and that eventually manifests through their entrepreneurial journey. JDEED spoke to the twins after their über-successful Dubai event where they celebrated their eponymous beauty line launching in the GCC.

Hello ladies and welcome back to Dubai – How does it feel to be back in the region? What is something you love to do when you get here?

It always feels so warm landing in Dubai, and I don’t mean the weather even though it goes without saying. I love landing, eating our favorite foods and then going straight to the beach to walk at night.

You were just in Saudi – How did the public welcome the launch of SIMI HAZE beauty to the region and what was the feedback? What does it represent for you to finally be available in this part of the world?

We felt so overwhelmed by the support in Saudi. The girls there really know their way around make-up so to have conversations about it with them and hear about how much they love our products was so fulfilling. We’ve been excited to launch in the region since we launched SIMIHAZE BEAUTY, so being able to finally do it and be accessible to everyone there was the best feeling.

If I were to only pick 3 products from your line, which ones should I get?

Our favorites change so often but right now it would be the Solar Tint Blush Duo in Canyon, Skin Suede Melting Bronze Balm in shades Cedar or Oak and Mini Super Slick Tinted lip balm in Dune. Can I pleaaaase add a fourth? I need you to try Velvet Blur in the shade Suede.

What product was the most challenging to develop and why?

I would say Velvet Blur, our balmy matte lipstick, because it was such a trial and error to get a lip stick that felt like a balm and was also matte and not drying at all. Sounds like an oxymoron but we made it happen!

Bold lips, bold eyes or both?

Either, or, depends on the outfit.

What can we expect for the future of SIMI HAZE Beauty?

Products that you didn’t even know you needed!
