Crush Of The Week

Catching up with Manal Waqi of Amanqi Edit ahead of their The Fine Jewelry Collective showroom

By  |

Following the success of their previous Digital Showroom, viewers will now have another chance to see more behind the scenes and upcoming work of the designers featured in the Amanqi Edit.

Lasting from October 15 until November 11 2020, the showroom will provide exclusive looks into collections of local and emerging designers. Manal from the Amanqi Edit caught up with us and filled us in on what they’ve been up so since their last digital showroom, which she describes “a lot of our consulting work has been geared towards helping our emerging brand pool with digital media marketing and finding a more concrete direct-to-consumer model. With things changing so rapidly for stores, brands and customers, it has become important to find a middle ground that works for everyone.

What can online visitors see exclusively during The Fine Jewelry Collective showroom?

Visitors will have access to some never seen before fine jewellery labels. Some of the region’s freshest fine jewelry talent have come together for this showcase and we are excited for visitors to see their exclusive collections, pieces and visionary aesthetics.

What have you learned by prioritizing your support towards emerging designers and brands?

By prioritizing emerging brands, we’ve found that there is a gap in the market where consumers are not able to fully connect with fresh, new brands that they would like to connect with. A lot of customers are looking for something different and innovative and we hope to help them connect with the brands they are looking for.

Who are some designers to watch in 2021?

In ready-to-wear, Eirene Studio, La’Leenah and The Letter are super cool. In jewelry, we love Tales of Gems, Lana Al Kamal Jewelry and Muse Rawan. Spilt Milk is also one of our accessory favourites!
