Crush Of The Week

Arab & Georgian designers items we have our eyes on

By  |

It’s January, the time of the year that makes us go slightly bipolar. Should we start reducing our chocolate intake? Or wait until the Epiphany is over? Should we get back on our sport routine? Or continue watching And Just Like That with a side of red wine? Dry January? Veganuary? Just the old me?
One thing is sure however, and yes, sigh, is that our shopping addiction remains true to itself, from Christmas shopping last month to finding bargains on sale this month. But is it all that bad if we’re gonna spend those dollars on some Arab emerging designers fabulous creations? We believe not. Here’s a round-up of our favourite items to purchase ASAP.

1- Dar Collective sweaters

Pick your country from the currently available list (as of now Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco…) and chose your design amongst a wide selection of hip, edgy pieces from “Ba7ebak ya Libnan” to “University of Palestine”. Patriotism has never looked so cool.

Amina Muaddi Gilda Mules in their new declination

We doubt you need a further introduction to Amina Muaddi and her namesakes label that’s been seen on the feet of about every single celebrity since its launch 3 years ago. Our favourite pair, The Gilda Mule, is now available in a baby blue tone, embellished with pale pink strass. And although we promised ourselves to buy no more shoes for a while, we might have to make an exception for this one.

Lynsh Jewelry’s 1.2 Zelda ring

On top of the “things you’ll never regret investing in”, jewelry is definitely there and probably not going anywhere anytime soon. And since to us, just a normal ring won’t do, we are absolute fans of Lynsh Design’s 1.2 Zelda ring, customizable in either 18k yellow gold or 18k pink gold, sublimed by your pick of blue sapphires or Colombian emeralds. Which combination would you go for?

Zarqua embellished purse

Georgian brand Zarqua basically reads our mind on every level. Shapes, colors, strass… we want it all. And we mean, all. Our hearts stopped at the sight of this purse, the Dahlia bag, a rectangle belted bag made in Tbilissi, that features cow leather with crystal embellishment. Pair it with a jeans and blazer to elevate a daytime outfit or with literally any party attire to make sure the whole town is dazzled.

Materiel Tbilissi cut-out dresses

Materiel is the kind of brand which such strong aesthetic you would guess their designs from miles away. And do we love these designs! Great news is, they always have an archive sale going on, with very reduced prices. These two cut-out dresses are our favourite, elegant but bold, daring but still classic.

Autonomie’s colorful printed dress

Egyptian designer Maha Ahmed, now based in Dubai, is the creative brain behind Autonomie, a young label with big ambitions. Colorful, beautifully structured, her designs are statement, made for women who aren’t afraid to stand out. We love this balloon top dress, with shoulder pads, a midi length and vibrant tones, that can be worn for a work event, a day at Fashion week or a cute date night. Pros? It’s on sale!
